Sustainability
Sustainability and social responsibility is a part of everything we do at Froneri
Whether it's reducing food waste by using perfectly imperfect fruits that were destined for landfill, planting wild flowers to encourage bees which pollinate our ingredients, supporting mental health groups and under-funded artist communities or ensuring the peaceful co-habitation of desert elephants and local people in Namibia. We are always looking for ways we can help the planet and society.
Planet & Society
We are dedicated to focusing our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) efforts by setting ambitious short and mid-term targets
By the end of 2023, we aim to achieve the following milestones: ensuring that 100% of our children's portfolio meets the criteria of fewer than 110Kcal, less than 12g of sugar, and less than 3.8g of saturated fat per portion. Additionally, we are committed to sourcing 100% of our palm oil sustainably through RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil), and obtaining RSPO certification for all our own factories (excluding the US, which will be certified by 2024). We are also actively working towards reducing single-use plastic waste by eliminating 200 million plastic spoons, straws, cups, and lids compared to our 2019 usage. Furthermore, we are proud to offer branded products with more than 90% of them containing fewer than 250Kcal per serving. These targets are a testament to our unwavering commitment to sustainability and responsible practices.

Looking ahead to 2025
By the end of 2025, our commitment includes designing 100% of our packaging to be recyclable, compostable, biodegradable, or reusable, ensuring that it aligns with environmentally friendly practices. Furthermore, we are dedicated to sourcing 100% of our paper, cardboard, and sticks from responsibly managed forests or from recycled materials, thus minimising our impact on deforestation. In addition, we aim to achieve zero waste from our factories by ensuring that 100% of the waste generated is either recovered or recycled, contributing to a circular economy. Moreover, we have made a pledge to eliminate the use of plastic novelties in all our children's products, further reducing plastic waste. These goals underscore our unwavering commitment to sustainability and our ongoing efforts to minimise our environmental footprint.

We are committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050
Bumblebee Conservation
We aim to support the conservation of Bumblebee's in the Cornwall area. Bumblebees are wild pollinators, which are essential for sustainable farming but declining worldwide for a variety of complex reasons. When land is managed appropriately, farmed countryside can provide a home for bumblebees whilst still producing food and helping to reverse pollinator decline. Kelly’s only uses fresh milk and cream from local Cornish dairy herds, meaning our ingredients are sourced just down the road from our factory in Bodmin.

We believe in moderation to achieve a balanced, healthy diet
Across the globe you will find products in each of our markets that are portion controlled, low calorie or low fat, have reduced sugar or no added sugar, lactose free, gluten free or vegan - just to name a few. By providing this spectrum of options we let the consumer decide what is the right choice for their particular needs. We’ve already achieved more than 90% of all branded products with fewer than 250Kcal per serving. In fact, 20% of our hand held snacking products are below 110 calories worldwide.

Sustainable Sticks
Our sticks are sourced from a supplier who is certified either by the PEFC (The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) or the FSC depending on the country. This means the original logs the sticks come from are traceable to sustainably managed forests and 100% compliant with regulations that ensure respect for the highest ecological, social and ethical standards.
